Inquiring of Melchizedek
(1 Jan 2003) Tom wants to know the truth of his own identity.
(Tom)
Hannah and Thomas go to the Lord Protector, Melchizedek, to ask him questions. Tom wishes to know whether he is really Lord Explorer Thomas, or whether he is Thomas Winthrope. As Melchizedek tells him, he is indeed the Lord Explorer ... but more in the manner he wanted to know, there was a Thomas Winthrope in Ainigton before ever there was a Lord Explorer Thomas in Mirari. They speak of the Destroyer, and his identity as John Harcourt or Lord Eoin, and just why Melchizedek would entrust the fate of Mirari to the dreams of children. Thomas poses that perhaps the key to saving Mirari depends on learning more about how the Destroyer came to be ... but before they can continue along that line of reasoning, they hear Alice exclaiming that the Palace of All Seasons has come under siege!
