Finishing Business
(5 Sep 2002) Thomas confronts the wraith of his old friend, Randall.
(Agatha) (Elinor) (Simon)
(Tom)
Thomas, Rachel, Sir Lefallon and Agatha reach the bottom of a stairwell, where they find the wraith of Thomas's old friend, Randall, guarding the way. Thomas squares off in single combat with Randall, but his own claim that he is "no warrior" proves all too true, as he cannot best the wraith in swordplay. Thomas bids his companions to carry on without him, but they refuse to obey such an order. Sir Lefallon and Agatha join the fray, holding off the wraith, while Thomas and Rachel try another tactic -- to bury Randall's dusty bones. Although the jruuh threaten to close in, as they have great difficulty keeping them at bay while engaged in combat or moving stones, Rachel and Thomas erect a caern. Agatha and Sir Lefallon manage to "slay" Randall, but his body starts to reform above his corpse. However, before he can become solid again, Rachel and Thomas complete the caern, and Randall at last is able to find his rest, the Destroyer's curse broken.
