Finding Sir Theodore
(24 Oct 2002) Alice's friends try to distract the trolls, so that she can search for the hidden glen.
(Alice)
Alice's friends work up a distraction -- Hannah works a glamour upon herself to take a disguise as a "messenger of the Destroyer," to infiltrate the camp. Then, a while later, Sir Tristan and Souhait appear -- though with glamours to disguise themselves as an escaped Lord April and the unicorn Melchizedek. Most of the camp is prodded into pursuing the "escapees," but several still remain.

Alice is left in the custody of several of the deer-centauroid "Forooves," and as they note that not all of the camp as fled, they nonetheless decide to try to sneak in anyway -- using a bit of Alice's own ability of glamour to try to help conceal themselves. A large many-legged cat-like creature with the trolls senses the intruders, but Alice pulls out some catnip from her purse to leave -- distracting the beast from investigating further. As they draw near to the area where there should be a Siege leading to the Hidden Glen, Hannah returns, distracting the trolls momentarily -- but a fight seems inevitable. Alice rushes to the area where it seems the circles of the Siege may intersect, and uses her ability to pass through the Siege.

She finds herself in a hidden glen, free of the ravages of Winter, where there are many sleeping knights -- and in the center, there is a slab upon which rests the form of a bear-knight, Sir Theodore, sleeping with a Bible upon his chest, in the shadow of a statue of Ariel -- a winged horse. Alice figures that she knows what she must do, before her friends fall into even deeper peril, and approaches Sir Theodore....
