Fall of Water

Thomas, Agatha, Sir Lefallon and Rachel return to Caer Sidi, where they find a crowd gathered outside the monastery that is home to the water mages of Caer Sidi. They bid the crowd to part, and then Thomas parlays with Faust, leader of the Water Mages -- as Agatha finds another way in, with the help of one of the captured mages, who has promised his aid for Agatha's word as a knight that he will be set free afterward. Agatha takes Pelles's magic potion, and supposes out loud that it might contain a fire dragon to be loosed upon the mages. She opens up the vial and pours the contents into a dry well that is a secret entrance to the monastery ... and lo and behold, her prediction was true! A dragon composed of fire assaults the mages, while Thomas and Sir Lefallon -- making no progress at negotiations so far -- now press their attack. In short order, most of the mages are reduced to ash by the dragon, but Agatha urges it to let them take some alive. The dragon complies by knocking the remainder unconscious, allowing them to be captured.

Afterward, the town is freed from the curse and from the mages, and the matter of what to do with the prisoners and the captured loot is discussed -- while Thomas has his mind on what other adventures may be ahead for them all.
