Redmane and Lord December travel to see the history of the pack. There the Lord of December comes to terms with what has happened and how he has failed to protect some of his people.
The Lord takes this honorably and goes to those he failed to protect and asks their forgiveness. The reunion is hort-lived ... for no sooner has an agreement been reached as Thomas arrives on the back of the moster of shadow!
