Cupbearer of the Titans: Redmane's Race
July 16 (10 Apr 2003) Lady Redmane faces the perils of a monster-infested obstacle course, as a champion for Lord Explorer Thomas.
(Agatha) (The Trials of Anwynn)
Lady Redmane, serving as a champion for Lord Explorer Thomas, takes on the challenge of the Cupbearer of the Titans. She learns that she is to carry wine to an oversized chalice at the end, as quickly as possible, using the goblets provided. Along the way, there is a sleeping beast to leap over, and choices of paths to take - the left forks leading through obstacles like a tight squeeze or a jumble of rubble to step over, and the right forks leading past hostile beasts - an ice wyrm and a leviathan. Lady Redmane fills up a goblet of wine and heads through the course as quickly as she can, but spills some near the end. She repeats this course, until she has filled the chalice at the end a third of the way full ... and then she decides to think "outside the box." She grabs two goblets at once to fill them up, then makes her way carefully through the course, using the left branches this time rather than risking contact with the monsters ... then pours them into the chalice, and completes the race.
