Causing a Scene
July 16 (13 Feb 2003) Mrs. Smith faints at the sight of Ahearn ... and several people of Ainigton rush to her aid.
(Agatha) (Alice)
Mrs. Smith, fainted after seeing Ahearn in his true guise, is tended to by Alice, Agatha and Mr. Cortlynn. Several concerned neighbors rush to the scene, too. At last, Mrs. Smith is taken back to her house, and the kids receive stern warnings for bringing such a big animal into town to frighten Mrs. Smith with.

Left to their own devices, Alice, Agatha and Mr. Cortlynn start walking toward Harcourt Manor. Alice talks about perhaps going and getting the books; Mr. Cortlynn disapproves of this course of action, but seems helpless to stop it. While Alice goes off to the Siege des Anges, Mr. Cortlynn accompanies Agatha to Harcourt Manor, where he meets Destre - and wonders if all horses Agatha knows are quite like this.
