After the incident with the appearance of Randall, Rachel comes out, crossbow ready, to find that the battle has already ended. Tom explains what happened -- and also that he knows some alternate names for the Destroyer (a.k.a., Lord Eoin of January, Jack of Hearts, and John Harcourt.) This further tie to the Harcourt family puzzles Rachel, and Tom tries to explain his theories concerning the relationship between Mirari and the Harcourt Family -- and that he has been reluctant to share these thoughts for fear that it might have some sort of impact upon Mirari's reality. Simon, Tom and Rachel discuss how this revelation might apply to their quest -- whether, indeed, they can simply imagine the Destroyer out of existence -- but they decide to be a little more modest in their attempts to test these new theories.
