Camping Out
(18 Oct 2001) Tom and Simon camp out under the Gnarly Tree.

Tom and Simon camp out under the Gnarly Tree; at night, rather than turning in, Tom suggests to Simon that they go exploring, and see if they can learn anything more about the Siege of Wind. They find the location where it was located previously ... and they also find the wolf that Tom encountered before. Once again, Tom is able to communicate with the wolf, and it seems that Simon is able to as well. The wolf invites them both to come along with him, and the two boys agree -- The Siege of Wind forms again, and they are both taken from a summer night in Ainigton into a winter night in Mirari. The stars are the same (only brighter somehow), but the land is greatly changed. They are taken to the ice castle of Lord December, where the castle's owner interrogates Tom and Simon. Simon is sent away, while Lord December questions Tom further....
